“Do your best and don’t let your fears stand in the way of your dreams.”
– Christopher Donalty, 1998
For the fifth year, Christopher Donalty’s family and friends are joining together to pay tribute to him and raise funds for CURE to support critically needed epilepsy research. This research offers hope to those who are affected with this debilitating disease.
The major fundraising event held is The Christopher Donalty CURE Benefit. This year it will be held at Hart’s Hill Inn, 135 Clinton Street, Whitesboro, NY. The cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. All seating is by reservation only.
The theme of this year’s benefit is “You Are The Cure”, indicating a tribute to the overwhelming generosity of supporters in the Mohawk Valley. Over 700 people have attended each of our 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2009 benefits. And this year’s benefit is on track to achieve an amazing benchmark…a total of $1 Million in funds raised to date in The Mohawk Valley!
It is our hope that you will join us in celebrating Christopher Donalty’s life at this year’s event, and at the same time make history with us as we hit the $1Million mark in funds raised to eradicate epilepsy and save lives.
This year’s benefit will pay tribute to George F. Aney, who has been named CURE’s “New York State 2011 Man of the Year” for his extraordinary public awareness and fundraising efforts throughout the Mohawk Valley on behalf of the organization.
George Farber Aney is the son of Edna and Duane H. Aney, brother of Duane, Lyle, and Doris, beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews, a loyal friend and generous benefactor. George F. Aney will be honored for the impact he has had on the lives of so many, and in particular the difference that he is making in increasing awareness of epilepsy and raising funds for research.
Born and raised in Herkimer County, George attended Van Hornesville Central School, St. Lawrence University, and Syracuse University College of Law.
Upon completing his education, George returned to Herkimer County to practice law. His professional reputation has earned him recognition throughout the state as an outstanding trial lawyer. Despite his busy law practice, George also finds time for numerous community and charitable activities.
George’s travels throughout the world have brought him into contact with heads of state and international celebrities, including his close friend, the late Mstislav Rostropovich, yet his heart remains here in Central New York, close to the farm he grew up on and the people most important to him.
Please join us in thanking George for showing us all how to live a life of purpose and commitment and demonstrating how to be the CURE.
